Eastbound California Zephyr descends Vasquez Crossing in Winter Park

Amtrak Train 5, running 29 minutes late into Fraser, descends the curve at Vasquez with a friendly blast of the horn from the Engineer inside the cab of Genesis P42 #146 with #44 trailing. First Class Sleepers consist of Phase VII #32011 "Channel Islands" and Phase IV #32048 "Cape Cod". Bringing up the rear of the train is Phase VII Coach/Baggage #31005. As the train rolls away we hear them call Foreman Floyd of Track Gang R146 to go over Form B 34337 for the Fraser stop where work continues on the station's west end platform. Video taken 10/08/2026.
