Susan's Story: Finding Her Way Home After Disaster | ReBUILD LA™

Susan B. is a proud grandmother from the Palisades who just wants to go home. After losing her home of 15 years in the wildfires of January 2025, Susan worked with Habitat LA to start on her journey back to homeownership. Through counseling and the ReBUILD financing that Habitat LA offers, Susan was able to receive a silent loan to cover the difference between insurance payouts and actual rebuilding costs. The pathway back to homeownership can seem long and hidden by unknown challenges, but with a hand up from Habitat LA, Susan was able to find her footing and build back better than ever on the same plot of land.
