When you live in Shap and have a spare afternoon to go out for a ride, but have no car, what do you do?........ set off from home and head for the fells.
I'm very lucky to live where I do, a quick road ride gets me onto the Lakeland fells in 30 mins from my front door. So I headed out to Knipe Scar first, then over to Haweswater for a lovely little black route, then a quick ride up through Naddle Farm (RSPB wild Haweswater) to descend Mere Sike into Swindale Foot. Three great descents from my front door. Two hours riding, 15 miles and 2000ft elevation.
If you have the patience to watch the whole ride, you'll hear my history lesson and family history regarding Haweswater Dam and the area.
Thanks for stopping by and watching.
