📖 A PAGE DAILY | DAY 028 SURAH AL-BAQARAH (2:182–188) The Cow — Verses 182–188 ✨ 5-POINT SUMMARY Based on Tafsir Ibn Kathir 1. Verse 182 — Correct injustice and reconcile fairly If someone fears that a bequest contains unfairness or wrongdoing, they may intervene to bring about a fair settlement. Allah does not blame those who sincerely seek reconciliation and correct injustice. This verse teaches us to protect people's rights and resolve disputes with fairness. 2. Verses 183–185 — Fasting develops righteousness Allah prescribes fasting for the believers, as it was prescribed for those before them, so that they may attain taqwa (God-consciousness). Fasting is observed for a prescribed number of days, with concessions for those who are ill or travelling. Ramadan is the month in which the Qur'an was revealed as guidance for humanity. Allah intends ease for His servants, not hardship, and commands those who witness the month to fast. 3. Verse 186 — Allah is near and responds to supplication Allah tells the Prophet ﷺ that He is near and responds to the supplication of those who call upon Him. Believers are encouraged to respond to Allah's commands and believe in Him so that they may be rightly guided. This verse reminds us that we can turn to Allah directly with sincerity, hope, and trust. 4. Verse 187 — Allah grants ease in the observance of fasting Allah permits marital intimacy during the nights of fasting in Ramadan. Believers may eat and drink until dawn becomes distinguishable, after which they must complete the fast until nightfall. The verse also prohibits marital intimacy during i‘tikāf in the mosques. These rulings demonstrate the boundaries of worship and the ease Allah has granted His servants. 5. Verse 188 — Do not consume wealth unjustly Allah forbids believers from consuming one another's wealth through false means or using bribery to influence authorities and wrongfully take the property of others. Wealth must be acquired and handled honestly. This verse emphasises integrity, justice, and accountability before Allah in financial dealings. 🌙 TODAY’S REMINDER Fasting is more than abstaining from food and drink; it is a path towards taqwa, self-discipline, and obedience to Allah. Keep your heart connected to Him through du‘a, respect the boundaries He has set, and remain honest in every dealing. Allah wants ease for us and calls us towards a life of righteousness and justice. 📖 One Page. One Video. Three Times a Day. Read it. Understand it.
