Through its AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program, Nespresso is working with partners like TechnoServe to shift this reality, equipping farmers with regenerative agricultural practices that protect the environment while securing better harvests. The programme’s impact goes beyond farming techniques. It is reshaping livelihoods. Farmers are learning to treat coffee as a business, with record-keeping, planning, and quality standards embedded in their daily work. Wetmills and cooperatives are adopting better management practices, ensuring sustainability across the supply chain. Gender equity is also a priority, with families trained together to share decision-making, wages, and opportunities. As Phyllis, a sustainability trainer, notes: “For a farm to thrive, both men and women must be part of the journey.” The ripple effects are visible: households able to build better homes, buy land, educate children, and reinvest in their farms. Communities once constrained by outdated practices are finding renewed resilience. For Nespresso, it’s not just about sourcing high-quality coffee; it’s about ensuring that the people who grow it thrive.
