The Little Bike That Thinks It’s a Big Bike | Aprilia Tuono 457

Last year I rode the Aprilia 457 RS and absolutely loved it. This year Aprilia have now come up with the 457 Tuono, a naked version. Like most other things in life, I think this bike is even more fun naked. Although just 457 cc, it makes enough power to embarrass a lot of other mid small capacity bikes and is packed with tech too. The balance between weight and power help make it handle the back roads with ease. It handles great over the bumpy twisties and sits happily on the dual carriageways. It is A2-license compliant producing 47.6 hp (35kW) at 9400 rpm and 32 lb-ft (43.5 Nm) of torque at 6700 rpm. It has a lightweight aluminum frame, upside-down forks, and ByBre radial brakes. The bike also includes electronic rider aids like traction control and ABS, adjustable via riding modes. Engine & Performance: Engine: 457cc parallel-twin, 4 valves per cylinder, liquid-cooled with Ride-by-Wire. Power: 47.6 hp (35 kW) at 9,400 rpm. Torque: 32 lb-ft (43.5 Nm) at 6,700 rpm. Transmission: 6-speed with assist/slipper clutch. Final Drive: Shorter final drive for improved acceleration. Chassis & Suspension: Frame: Twin-spar aluminum frame. Front Suspension: Ø 41mm USD fork, adjustable preload, 120mm wheel travel. Rear Suspension: Monoshock, adjustable preload, 130mm wheel travel.
