Spring Bluff Heritage Shuttle 2026, Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

Join me on the Spring Bluff Shuttle from the heritage listed Toowoomba Railway Station on the Great Dividing Range, 125 km west of Brisbane, down the Main Range Railway to the historic Spring Bluff Station. Resplendent with thousands of plantings, the station’s award-winning flower displays draw thousands of visitors each September during the annual Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Hauled by two diesel locomotives, 10 wooden Queensland Rail heritage carriages convey delighted passengers twice daily to Spring Bluff over eight days during the school holidays. Disembarking the train for around an hour, passengers explore the gardens, picnic on the lawns and take hikes. On display at the station are historical items such as electric staves and the signal cabin. The heritage listed station grounds include three railway workers’ cottages and an open-sided “hall”. Upon returning to Toowoomba after the day’s first shuttle, I return to film the second shuttle at Ballard and Spring Bluff. The following day, the season’s last shuttle is filmed at Jellicoe Street, North Toowoomba en route to Spring Bluff.
