The Love of Christ: Our Pattern for Imitation

Scripture: Ephesians 4:31 - 5:2 Ephesians 4:31–5:2 presents a complete picture of Christlike love. We must put away bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, evil speaking, and malice, and replace them with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. We must become imitators of God and walk continually in the sacrificial love demonstrated by Jesus Christ. The love of Christ is not only the means of our salvation; it is also the model for our transformation. The key question is: Does the way I treat people reflect the way Christ has treated me? The world does not need only to hear our message about Christ. It needs to see Christ's character reproduced in our lives. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” — John 13:35
