How did you learn to pray? For most of us, it was supper-table habits, locker-room requests, or a scary bedtime rhyme — not a real understanding of what prayer is. In this message from our "How to Pray" series, we look at Matthew 6:10 and the phrase "your kingdom come, your will be done" to discover that prayer isn't about managing God — it's about submitting to Him as a holy King. Using four images from history — the ziggurat, the mountain, the temple, and the upper room — we trace humanity's attempts to reach God, and see how Jesus' model prayer flips our instinct to bring God down to us into an invitation to be restored to Him.
