Saturday night, 9:30 PM on Jalan Meldrum in downtown Johor Bahru. I’ve walked this street a few times but never stopped to eat here. What I like is the atmosphere — food stalls and tables scattered along a short stretch of one of JB’s historic streets. Jalan Meldrum was named after Scotsman James Alexander Meldrum, who established a steam sawmill here in 1860.
