A total of 5 brand new NFI XDE40 units were delivered to Kirkland Division, numbered #8001-8095. These buses are part of a most recent order from MUNI ordering hybrid buses once again. The first unit #8001 had been delivered since months ago, but it was just continuously being in training or maintenance of being accepted. In fact, these buses are equipped with Cummins B6.7 engines and BAE transmission system. 8001 is actually the only unit being delivered to MUNI for quite a couple of months. It had been going through maintenance routines, installing Thermo King AC, and different acceptance items before more units were delivered. For 8001 rear sliding doors, it does not have the metal plate installed below the windows, unlike 8005. Other than that, it mainly followed the same as other units and with the BEB standards.
