Shipping Bills is where Finance meets the warehouse: when the shipment leaves, the freight contractor sends one paper invoice — and this page turns it into accounting that pays him and re-bills every customer automatically, by physics.
• ONE BILL = ONE SLIP: each bill belongs to one shipment (SO#) and one contractor; the scanned invoice (image, PDF, even Excel) attaches as the slip
• THE CHIPS: All (10) / Not Billed / Draft / Posted — the billing lifecycle of the whole shipment list, plus the dashboard strip with Total Value in local currency (per-currency raw breakdown under it)
• TABLE & CARDS: twelve columns — SO#, date, cargo, customers, bill/draft/posted counts, raw per currency, rate, local, branch (and the Rate column is an approximation — the truth lives inside each bill)
• THE COMPOSITION: the brain — CBM and gross weight per customer, weighted by the cargo type (Ocean Container = 70% volume / 30% weight) → SO#4 splits 76.29% / 23.71% between its two customers, always totaling 100.00%
• CREATE LIVE: Add Bill on SO#4 → Contractor 1 → Bill #4 born as a draft with the owner strip and its ledger account
• LINES: Category → Expense (with the contractor's RECENT history group) → amount → currency (the rate fills itself: USD 6.81765 today; old bills stay frozen at 7.1) → notes → Save Draft → the bill shows its Balanced badge
• SURCHARGES ARE SCOPED: Hazardous Handling ⚡ USD 150 — pick which customer bears it (the box renormalizes to the subset); freight above still splits by the composition
• POST WITH EYES OPEN: the T-account preview shows every journal before anything posts — Stage 1 charges the expense and credits the contractor (once per branch), Stage 2 debits each customer and credits the expense back — the expense nets to zero, ✓ Balanced 8,445.30 both sides, and missing account leaves are auto-created
• AFTER POSTING: green chips with real transaction numbers (4284 / 4287 / 4289), the Customer Distribution grid (every customer slice, its branch, its ledger account, its frozen rate), and Mixed state when a posted bill takes one more line
• HISTORY: SO#1 with three posted bills and a 21-row distribution at 4.10% / 95.90% — the composition is the truth of each shipment, never a rule of thumb
• THE RULES: posted bills freeze (no backdating), admins correct through reverse+repost previews, ownership is explicit, closed periods hide in audit mode, and Report Builder prints/exports the Shipment Summary, one SO's bills, and the distribution
