Toyota hybrid or Tesla: which one is actually in better shape after 200,000 miles? Tesla fans say the hybrid is worn out. Toyota fans say the Tesla battery is dead. The real data says both are wrong, and the results surprised us. No one has driven two cars side by side to 200,000 miles in a lab. So we pulled the biggest real-world datasets out there: Tesla's own battery degradation numbers, the TÜV inspection report (about 9.5 million inspections), ADAC roadside breakdown data, iSeeCars' study of 395+ million vehicles, Consumer Reports, J.D. Power, AAA's Your Driving Costs, EPA ratings, and real high-mileage taxis and ride-share cars. We compare the Toyota Prius vs Tesla Model 3, and the RAV4 Hybrid vs Tesla Model Y, in three rounds: the battery, what actually breaks, and the money. IN THIS VIDEO: ✔️ How much a Tesla battery really loses at 200,000 miles (Tesla's own data: about 12–15%) ✔️ The Consumer Reports test of a 200,000-mile Prius on its original battery ✔️ Battery replacement cost out of warranty: Prius vs Model 3 / Model Y ✔️ Warranty: Toyota 10 years / 150k miles vs Tesla 8 years / 100–120k miles ✔️ TÜV 2026: why the Model Y finished last of 110 cars (and the brake-disc twist) ✔️ ADAC: the plot twist where Toyotas break down more, because of the small 12V battery ✔️ iSeeCars: chance of reaching 250,000 miles, Toyota vs Tesla ✔️ Energy cost over 200,000 miles: gas at $4.36 vs home charging vs Superchargers ✔️ The cost nobody puts in the spreadsheet: 5-year depreciation ✔️ Who should buy which car 🕰️ CHAPTERS: 0:00 Toyota hybrid vs Tesla: who wins at 200,000 miles? 1:40 Round 1: The battery 6:00 Round 2: What actually breaks 10:54 Round 3: The money 14:33 The verdict: 4 results nobody expected 💬 Which one would you trust to 200,000 miles?
