Got a Black Walnut Knot Like This? Turn It Into a Bowl!

In this video, I’m woodturning a beautiful Black Walnut knot and turning this unusual piece of wood into a unique bowl. I honestly didn’t expect to find such incredible grain and natural patterns hidden inside this Black Walnut. The dark knot, cracks, textures, and flowing grain made this woodturning project a real surprise from start to finish. If you have a large Black Walnut piece with an interesting knot, this is one way to turn it into a beautiful wooden bowl. Secure the blank properly on the lathe, remove the damaged and loose wood carefully, and gradually shape the piece while following the natural grain. Take light cuts around the knot and cracks, as these areas can be unpredictable. ⚠️ Safety First: Always wear proper eye and face protection, use appropriate woodturning tools, keep your tools sharp, and make sure the workpiece is securely mounted before starting the lathe. Check your equipment and workpiece carefully and never stand directly in the line of fire when starting the lathe.
