DCS | F-4E Phantom II | When the Backfires Came for NATO (1989)

Experience a tense, high-stakes night intercept over the freezing, moonlit fjords of North Norway in this high-fidelity DCS World cinematic based on a fictional Cold War scenario. The year is 1989. Deep within the Arctic Circle, NATO forces are conducting a massive naval exercise in the Norwegian Sea. Providing local air defense for the fleet is a small detachment of F-4E Phantoms, operating out of a snow-swept Bodø Air Base. The routine exercise takes a critical turn when GCI detects two unknown radar contacts moving at high speed directly toward the NATO exercise area. The radar profiles suggest heavy Soviet bombers. A pair of F-4E Phantoms are scrambled into the freezing, snowy night. While the Soviet Air Force routinely conducts mock attack runs on NATO shipping, intelligence warns that tonight might not be a drill.
