Júlia Colom is a Mallorcan musician who fuses traditional folk with modern sounds. Drawing inspiration from Mallorcan oral traditions, she blends acoustic and electronic elements, creating a sound that is both rooted in heritage and contemporary. “Sa Madona”, from her second album, Paradís, is about a worker who is responsible for other workers on a farm. This rural “madonna” sings about the land she oversees, “seven times larger than Mallorca,” boasting about the fields but also about the towns she claims to be under her rule.
