Navy White - Haint Tails - Dawn Shipp

Navy White — Dawn Shipp Some visitors never knock. Some never even come inside. When my grandmother was a little girl, she saw a mysterious man dressed in Navy whites leaning against the porch outside her grandmother’s bedroom window. Frightened by what she saw, she pulled the covers over her head and hid. Who was he? Why was he there? Those questions have never been answered. Navy White is inspired by her account, passed down through our family and preserved in song. Part of Haint Tails, a collection of Ozark folklore, family stories, and unexplained encounters. Some memories stay with you long after the night is over.
