Friedrich Silcher (1789 - 1860): Moderato after Beethoven's op. 28

This is another interesting organ composition by the Tübingen master, that is based on another well-known composition. In this case, Silcher used a theme from a Beethoven Rondo, the 4th movement of his "Pastoral" piano sonata no. 15. Silcher's piece takes on a very different character than the original brilliant Allegro movement, as it is much shorter and appears more heavy and dense; it is marked Moderato.
