Early Autumn in Normandy | Acrylic Painting Timelapse

Watch “Early Autumn in Normandy” come to life in this acrylic painting timelapse. This painting was inspired by photographs I took while hiking in the Normandy countryside. I wanted to capture the beginning of autumn rather than its peak—the landscape is still intensely green, but yellow, orange and red are beginning to appear among the trees. A wet rural road leads toward a traditional Norman half-timbered house, while puddles left by the rain reflect the blue-grey sky. The utility pole, fences and muddy path were all part of the real scene and became some of my favorite elements of the finished painting. Watch the painting develop from a blank surface into the finished Normandy landscape, from the first background layers to the autumn trees, house, reflections and final details.
