The Tabernacle & The Wilderness — A Sermon Series, Part II Speaker: Pastor Rick Russell Date: September 20, 2026 | 11:00 AM Primary Scripture: Exodus 25–30 In Part II of “The Tabernacle & The Wilderness,” Pastor Rick Russell continues the journey through the Tabernacle and what it teaches us about God’s presence, holiness, sacrifice, worship, and our ability to approach Him. Exodus 25–30 gives detailed instructions concerning the Tabernacle. Throughout Scripture, it is described as the Tabernacle of the Lord, Tabernacle of Testimony, Tabernacle of the Congregation, Temple of the Lord, and House of the Lord. Yet the Tabernacle was more than a physical structure—it pointed forward to God’s desire to dwell among His people. Jesus ultimately fulfills what the Tabernacle represented. John 1:14 declares that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. The message also connects the Tabernacle to Immanuel—“God with us”—and to Christ as our High Priest, through whom we can approach God. This message explores the outer court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies, along with the significance of the bronze altar and bronze laver. The sacrifices, cleansing, priesthood, and shedding of blood all point toward the finished work of Jesus Christ.
