My Lanterns reaction continues with Season 1 Episode 4, “The Weenie,” as Hal Jordan and John Stewart return to the Manhunter investigation and the mystery surrounding Rushville gets even deeper. With the deadline closing in, John develops a new theory about where the Manhunter could be hiding, leading him and Hal directly toward William Macon's compound. But their investigation quickly gets stranger as they uncover advanced alien technology and realize there may be much more happening in Rushville than either of them expected. Meanwhile, Hal's secret visit with Sinestro starts having consequences. Sinestro immediately recognizes what Hal doesn't want to admit: John isn't simply his new partner or backup — he's being positioned as his eventual replacement. At the same time, Lianna pressures John to take control of the Green Lantern ring from Hal, putting both men in an increasingly complicated position with the Guardians. And then there's the Manhunter investigation. Between Macon's compound, Hector Hammond and the reveal surrounding Zoe, this episode gave us some of the biggest answers yet while creating even more questions about what's actually happening in Rushville.
