Gigantamax Venusaur has also been defeated as Duo Battle before. Back in the time, both Adventure Effect and Max Mushroom were used. This time around, similarly, Gigantamax Venusaur had learnt a new move - Sludge. Obviously, this is the move we would want to see, since it has low base power and double resisted by Crowned Shield Zamazenta. Apart from that, charged move now also charge up max meter faster. While this does not affect the battle plan itself (since Behemoth Bash was also used in Max Finale), it charges up the max meter faster, which allow us to Dynamax a few more times. Once again, Gigantamax Venusaur has its HP remains unchanged, with only a slight buff on its attack stat. All these allows Crowned Shield Zamazenta and Gigantamax Cinderace defeat Gigantamax Venusaur without Max Mushroom this time. Especially the introduction of Sludge, which allows Crowned Shield Zamazenta to survive through 2nd phase. Overall, this Duo Battle was very similar to Gigantamax Butterfree, where Crowned Shield Zamazenta will keep on using Guard to survive. Until Gigantamax Cinderace can defeat Gigantamax Venusaur, they must sacrifices themselves to allow Gigantamax Cinderace Dynamax a few more times before the time limit.
