Not every lead is hot. Let AI sort them.
In this Make.com tutorial we build a lead capture scenario with AI lead scoring. Your website form sends each lead to a Make webhook. OpenAI cleans up the name, email and phone, writes a one-line summary, and scores buying intent from 1 to 10 as JSON. A Router then splits the leads: hot leads (score 7 or higher) go straight into HighLevel (GoHighLevel) as a contact, with a Slack alert to the owner. Everyone else goes to a Google Sheet nurture list, so nobody gets lost.
What you'll learn:
How to set up a Make custom webhook with a data structure (name, email, phone, message, source)
How to write an OpenAI prompt that cleans lead data and returns a 1-10 intent score as strict JSON
How to use Parse JSON so every field (score, email, summary, reason) is mappable
How to set up a Router with a "Hot lead" filter (score 7+) and an "Everyone else" filter (under 7, or no score)
How to map a HighLevel Create a Contact module, a Slack alert and a Google Sheets nurture row
How to test it safely in your own account, and what it costs in Make credits per lead
Steps:
1. Scenarios → Create a new scenario, named "DEMO - Lead Capture to CRM with AI Lead Scoring"
2. Webhooks → Custom webhook with a "Website lead" data structure
3. OpenAI → Simple text prompt (GPT-5 nano): clean the data, score intent 1-10, return JSON
4. JSON → Parse JSON with a "Lead score" data structure
5. Webhooks → Webhook response (200, received: true), optional
6. Router: Route 1 filter "Hot lead" = score greater than or equal to 7
7. GoHighLevel → Create a Contact (first name, last name, email, phone, source, hot lead tag)
8. Slack → Send a Message to the owner with the score, contact details, summary and reason
9. Route 2 filter "Everyone else" = score less than 7 OR score does not exist
10. Google Sheets → Add a Row to a "Lead nurture list" sheet
11. Add notes, save, leave scheduling OFF. Then connect your apps, Run once with your own test submission, check the bundles, and switch scheduling on
Cost: about 6 credits per hot lead and about 5 per nurture lead (the router and filters are free), plus a little extra for Make's built-in AI. Make's free plan includes 1,000 credits a month.
Built as an inactive demo in my own Make account. No apps were connected and the scenario was never run, so no contacts were created and nothing was sent.
