L1 | INTRODUCTION | BACK TO THE BASICS

Back to the Basics is a study of God's complete plan for the redemption of heaven and earth through Jesus Christ. Beginning with Genesis 1:1, we explore how God's twofold purpose unfolds throughout Scripture and culminates in Christ bringing all things under His headship. Throughout Scripture, we see that God has a plan for the earth, centered in Israel and the promised earthly kingdom, and a plan for the heavenly places, centered in the Body of Christ revealed through the Apostle Paul (Ephesians 1:10; 3:8-10). Although sin temporarily disrupted both realms, God's purpose has never changed. The Bible unfolds the story of how God will reclaim and reconcile both heaven and earth under the headship of Jesus Christ. Understanding this distinction provides a foundational key to rightly dividing the Word of God and seeing the unity of God's eternal purpose from Genesis to Revelation.
