MY WAY HOME Written in 2011, My Way Home came from a very real point in my life. I was leaving my hometown to pursue my music studies, heading away to begin another chapter while already carrying thoughts of eventually coming home. The song was also shaped by the loss of loved ones, and by that quiet question many of us carry — whether the people we’ve lost can somehow still see the roads we take, the lives we build, and the person we become. That sense of absence, memory and connection is part of what gives the song its more melancholy feel. It’s one of those songs that took 10 minutes to write and years without a home. For me, it is also about a lifetime of love, memory and experience, and the roads that eventually lead you back to the person you love, or to wherever “home” means to you. I would rather leave that final meaning with the listener. Make up your own heart and mind about it. Let the song take you wherever it takes you, and let it mean whatever it makes you feel. My songwriting goes back to the 1990s, and My Way Home is one of a collection of older original songs that I’m now revisiting and bringing back to life.
