63 | Service : Mahabharat | Hindi | Swami Samarpanananda

Continuing the profound narrative from the Vana Parva of the Mahabharata, this discourse details Dharmavyadha taking Sage Kaushik to his home, revealing devotion and dedicated service to elderly parents as the highest spiritual discipline. The talk further covers the sacred narrative of the birth of Sage Angirasa and Draupadi’s profound instructions on 'Seva Dharma'. It highlights the transformative spiritual value of dutiful action, humility, and selfless service in the pursuit of righteousness and inner realization. The Mahabharata, composed by Sage Vedavyasa, is far more than an epic narrative of a royal conflict; it is an encyclopaedia of ancient Indian wisdom, ethics, dharma, and spiritual truths that continue to guide human civilization. The fundamental teaching of Mahabharata is that human weaknesses will be there, but one has to outgrow them or else perish. Here, the discussion on dharma (righteousness, duty, morality) is in its entirety. Every now and then the work returns to this issue. This talk in Hindi is part of our systematic study of Mahabharata on YouTube. These discourses aim to uncover the deep philosophical truths and practical wisdom contained within our scriptures, guiding seekers toward a life of clarity, devotion, and self-realization. This discourse is part of a dedicated effort by Indian Spiritual Heritage to preserve and share the authentic wisdom of Indian scriptures in their purest form. Our goal is the selfless dissemination of spiritual truth for the benefit of all seekers. These talks were delivered at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur Math.
