I Was Cast Out of Heaven. Here Is Why I Did It. They were supposed to protect humanity. Then the order changed. Stand aside. Let the world end. Thousands obeyed. One didn't. REBORN TO WRECK THE WORLD is the story of an ancient guardian who chose a deeply flawed humanity over his own kind — and paid for that decision with his name, his light and his place among them. Centuries later, everyone thinks he's just a foul-mouthed, broken old man. That's probably for the best. Because something just moved beyond the clouds. And it remembers him. LYRICS I'm ancient. I'm twisted. I'm foul-spoken. Everyone knows I'm old and broken. They say I'm bad right through to the bone. They don't know I stand alone. There was a time the light stood strong, Drew the line between right and wrong. We watched your fires from afar And guarded things you never saw. We were the watchers. The defenders. We stood between you and the end. At least... That's what we were back then. But ages passed and something changed. Protection slowly turned to chains. They watched you fight. They watched you grow. And hated what they couldn't control. Then one day the order came. Cold. Simple. From above. “Stand aside. Their time is done.” I didn't move. They say I was reborn to wreck the world. Maybe that's the story that they heard. They see an old man drinking alone, Cursing everything he's ever known. Who gives a damn what they think? Let 'em whisper. Let 'em talk. If only they knew what was coming... They'd be glad I'm still around. Thousands turned without a question. Thousands came when they were called. I looked down at all of you... And couldn't understand them at all. You were violent. You were foolish. You broke almost everything you made. But whatever else you were... You weren't theirs to erase. I'd watched you laugh when there was nothing. Watched you share your final meal. Watched a stranger lift another When there was nothing left to gain. I'd watched you fail. I'd watched you try. I'd watched you crawl and stand again. So when the first ones started through... I stood between. They told me: “Stand aside.” I said: “No.” They told me: “You know what this will cost.” “I know.” They say I was reborn to wreck the world. Maybe that's the story that they heard. They see an old man drinking alone, Cursing everything he's ever known. Who gives a damn what they think? Let 'em whisper. Let 'em talk. If only they knew what was coming... They'd be glad I'm still around. I don't remember how long we fought. There wasn't time by then. I remember fire across the sky. I remember losing friends. I remember voices calling traitor. I remember falling through the dark. Then this world came rushing up to meet me... Hard. They took the light I carried. Took the name I'd always known. Left me scarred and half-destroyed... And very much alone. They thought exile was a punishment. Maybe once it was. But they left me here among the ones... I chose. I've watched you start your wars. I've heard you sing while cities burned. I've watched you bury everything... Then build it all again. I've watched you hate for nothing. I've watched strangers die for strangers. I've seen enough of what you are To know you'll never make much sense. Neither do I. Maybe that's why I stayed. Centuries. That's a long time to change your mind. I could've walked away. More than once. I nearly did. But every time I thought you'd finally proved them right... Someone did something they didn't have to do. A hand reached out. A door stayed open. Someone stood beside a stranger. Someone gave the last they had To somebody they would never see again. And after everything I've seen... I'd make the same choice again. They call me twisted. Fair. They call me dangerous. Probably. They say there's something wrong with me. There probably is. But when the sky goes black... When the old light returns... When they finally come to finish What they started long ago... I'll be here. They say I was reborn to wreck the world. Let 'em think whatever they like. They don't need to know what waits above. They don't need to know why I'm still alive. They don't need my name. They don't need the truth. Let them sleep another night. That's enough for me. I'm ancient. I'm twisted. I'm foul-spoken. Old as hell... And twice as broken. They say I'm bad right through to the bone. Good. Let 'em. Something moved beyond the clouds tonight. Something I haven't felt in a very long time. I looked up. They found me. I smiled. About bloody time. Dark alternative rock • Dark supernatural story • Blues-driven rock #RebornToWreckTheWorld #DarkRock #VelvetGrave
