In June 2011, law graduate Lauren Giddings vanished from her apartment in Macon, Georgia. Her next-door neighbor, a quiet classmate named Stephen McDaniel, helped her friends search, spoke to the local news, and seemed as worried as anyone. Then a reporter told him what police had found that morning.
Within hours, he was sitting across from detectives in an interview that would stretch past twelve hours. This is the story of how they took his story apart, the master key that opened her door, and the guilty plea no one saw coming. Featuring real footage from the WGXA news interview and the Macon police interrogation.
It is told in memory of Lauren Giddings, who was about to become a lawyer.
⚠️ This video discusses a real murder. It contains no graphic imagery, but viewer discretion is advised.
