I thought that Oz was sunshine, where every dream came true, With yellow roads and singing songs, And skies forever blue. Then Dorothy crossed the darkness, And the old world disappeared, A silent city, broken stones, And things she never feared. No rainbow in the sky, No music anywhere, Just a strange and ancient Oz With shadows everywhere. RETURN TO OZ WHERE THE MAGIC TURNS TO NIGHT! RETURN TO OZ WHERE THE WONDER HIDES THE FRIGHT! The Wheelers come running, The Nome King calls below, It's a fantasy forgotten In a world I didn't know! RETURN TO OZ THE ADVENTURE'S CALLING YOU! Tik-Tok marched beside her, With a heart of clockwork gold, Jack Pumpkinhead came alive while secrets were still told. Mombi wore a thousand faces, And the Emerald City fell, The Nome King's underground kingdom Was a nightmare in a spell. I thought I'd seen Oz before, But I was wrong that day, This was the Oz beneath the dream They never showed that way. RETURN TO OZ WHERE THE MAGIC TURNS TO NIGHT! RETURN TO OZ WHERE THE WONDER HIDES THE FRIGHT! With the Nome King waiting, And the Wheelers on the road, Every step into the darkness Takes you deeper into the real Oz world! RETURN TO OZ! THE UNEXPECTED IS CALLING YOU! Then I opened up the books That came from long ago, And suddenly the movie Started making sense to me. The strange and darker Oz Wasn't strange at all— The old stories had that shadow, Long before the rainbow called. The world I'd only known From that famous golden song Was brighter than the books had been, And somehow I'd believed it all along. The Wheelers! The Nome King! The shattered Emerald City! Mombi's magic, Tik-Tok marching! Oz was never what we thought! The theatre went silent, the children watched in fright, Everyone expecting rainbows— And finding shadows in the night! RETURN TO OZ WHERE THE MAGIC COMES ALIVE! RETURN TO OZ WHERE THE STRANGE AND DREAMS SURVIVE! We thought Oz meant a rainbow, we thought Oz meant a song, But the books were hiding something that we'd misunderstood all along! RETURN TO OZ LET THE OLD WORLD REAPPEAR! The darkness isn't wrong— It's the Oz that's hiding here! RETURN TO OZ THE WHEELERS RIDE TONIGHT! RETURN TO OZ THE EMERALD CITY LIGHTS! From the pages of the old books To the screen before our eyes, We discovered that the darkest Oz Was waiting in disguise! RETURN... RETURN TO OZ! Beyond the rainbow, Beyond the dream… THERE'S ANOTHER OZ… DARKER THAN IT SEEMS! And now we know… What the old books show… IT WAS ALWAYS THERE, WAITING... BEYOND THE RAINBOW GLOW. --
