Welcome back to TranSan Labs, where I take you behind the scenes of my creative process making original music for TransistorSandwich.com!
In this live session, I dive into testing out the newly released Reason Rack VST plugin inside MuLab. Drawing inspiration from the iconic early-2000s Eurodance classic "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65, I build an original dance track completely from scratch.
Watch the production unfold live—from crafting punchy dual-layered basslines with the Monotone synthesizer and dialed-in EDM beats on the Kong Drum Designer, to writing soaring lead hooks with the Europa shape-shifting synth and layering vintage synth textures. Along the way, Ross joins in from the master control tower managing chat and technical wizardry as we polish the mix and play through the finished track draft!
What we cover in this stream:
• First impressions and workflow testing of the Reason Rack VST in MuLab
• Designing dual-layer basslines using the Monotone Bass Synthesizer
• Auditioning and building electronic dance beats with the Kong Drum Designer
• Intro sound effect design and FX layering with SynthMaster
• Crafting melodic hooks, leads, and pads with the Europa shape-shifting synth
• Live arrangement, mixing tweaks, and full playback of the completed track draft
