Hey! I've just implemented our new EXP distribution system! The goal is to make training and Digivolution progression more strategic while preserving the essence of the original game. Here's how it works! 1. Battle EXP — Where does it come from? The total EXP is determined by the enemy encounter group, using the original game's data. You can see this amount at the top of the battle results screen, right next to the BIT reward. 2. Base Digimon — Sharing the EXP The total EXP is divided equally among the base Digimon that participated in battle. 1 Digimon: Receives 100% of the EXP. 2 Digimon: Each receives 50%. 3 Digimon: Each receives approximately 33%. What about Digimon that stayed on the bench? They still receive 10% of one active Digimon's EXP share, and the results screen will mark them as no fight. This bonus doesn't reduce the EXP earned by active Digimon. 3. Digivolutions — Every Form Has Its Own Progression! Each Digivolution that participated receives EXP based on its base Digimon's share. The first form receives 70% of the base Digimon's EXP share. If multiple forms of the same Digimon participate, the reward for each form is halved with every additional form used: 1 form: 70% 2 forms: 35% each 3 forms: 17.5% each Important: Digivolution EXP is calculated separately. It does NOT reduce the EXP received by your base Digimon! This means you can train multiple forms in the same battle, but their individual EXP rewards will be smaller. 4. Participation & Survival Rules Only Digimon that entered the battlefield and survived until the end are eligible for EXP. This includes Digimon brought into battle through Tag. However: If a Digimon is defeated, both its base form and all its Digivolutions lose their EXP eligibility for that battle. Reviving a Digimon alone isn't enough. It must re-enter the battlefield to become eligible again, restarting its participation credit. DNA Digivolution and Blast forms are excluded from EXP distribution. Survival and battle participation now directly affect your progression! 5. EXP Rounding & Level-Up Rules Two important rules have been implemented: EXP always rounds UP. For example, 10% of 25 EXP is 2.5, which becomes 3 EXP. This prevents Digimon from losing EXP due to decimal rounding. Digivolutions can gain a maximum of ONE level per battle. Base Digimon do not have this restriction. 6. Why Does Digivolution Level Matter? Each Digivolution learns and unlocks techniques according to its individual level, following the original game's SLUS data. A Level 1 Digivolution starts with NO techniques — not even its signature move! As you train your forms, you'll gradually unlock their abilities and gain access to additional techniques. This gives you a reason to develop different Digivolutions instead of relying exclusively on your strongest form. 7. Example — A Battle Worth 120 EXP Imagine the following situation: Two base Digimon participated in battle, each using one Digivolution. A third Digimon remained on the bench. Here's how the rewards are calculated: Digimon XP earned BK Agumon (Base) 60 EXP BK WarGreymon (Digivolution) 42 EXP Patamon (Base) 60 EXP Seraphimon (Digivolution) 42 EXP Agumon (Bench — No Fight) 6 EXP How did we get these numbers? 120 EXP ÷ 2 active base Digimon = 60 EXP each. Each participating Digivolution receives 70% of its base Digimon's share: 60 × 70% = 42 EXP. The Digimon on the bench receives: 60 × 10% = 6 EXP. All rewards are calculated independently, without deducting EXP from the base Digimon. 8. A Redesigned Battle Results Screen The results screen now displays EXP rewards in compact, two-line boxes, without scrolling. You'll be able to identify which Digimon participated, which forms earned EXP, and which Digimon received the no fight bonus. What's the Goal? I want training different Digivolutions to feel rewarding, with more meaningful decisions during combat. You'll be able to develop multiple forms, experiment with different strategies, and gradually unlock new techniques as your Digimon grow stronger. This is another step toward making Digimon World 3: New Generation a deeper and more strategic experience!
