The Father Who Kept the Light On | A Gentle Bible Story for Evening

A gentle, slow retelling of Jesus's parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–32), told from the father's point of view. For anyone who has waited for someone to come home. Details of the setting are imagined (the servant Eli, the lamp, the olive tree); the heart of the story is from Scripture.
