But the question that caught my attention isn't simply whether KFC can sell more chicken. It's this: *How does an organization change when part of what it may need to change is also part of its identity?* In this episode of **The Conflict Whisperer**, I look at KFC as a case study in a conflict that many established organizations eventually face: the tension between preserving what made you successful and changing what may no longer serve you. Organizations often describe people as "resistant to change." Sometimes they are. But sometimes people are protecting something. History. Expertise. Relationships. Traditions. Status. A way of working that once helped the organization succeed. And sometimes what worked before wasn't wrong. *It worked.* The harder question is whether it still works now.
