We are jumping into the first post-Series 4 special, The Next Doctor, and honestly, this felt like a classic "Christmas Carol" in the best way possible. From the "Wizard of Oz" vibes to some truly brilliant filmmaking, the production value on this one was hitting.
As an acting coach, I have to give it up for David Morrissey—he really had me for a second there. Breaking down his performance and the way he mirrored the Doctor’s energy was fascinating. We’re also talking about that "Tethered Aerial Release Developed In Style" (T.A.R.D.I.S.) and whether the Doctor is actually meant to be traveling alone right now.
After the heavy ending of the finale, this was surprisingly hopeful, but I’m still sitting with that concern for him. He’s been here before with Martha, determined to be solo, but it never seems to last. I worry for him while he's alone.
Did they trick you with "The Next Doctor" reveal too? And do you think the Doctor is actually better off traveling without a companion for a while? Let’s talk about it in the comments.
