sun scorching is an important problem in Arecanut during summer months. it is mainly caused due to excessive heat from the west side of the Sun. plants which are exposed to The Western side of the plantation are more prone to these type of problems. due to this stem become red and gradually it starts opening... the xylem and phloem in the stem system will be destroyed by distance scorching... due to this effect plant suffers a lot because of shortage of food and water.. show plants become weak and more vulnerable for attack of high speed of wind... generally the yield in this plant is also reduces... to avoid this line pasting and covering the stem with shade net is a good measure of control
