25 Classic TV Stars Nobody Wanted to Work With

One TV wife couldn't believe she was "married to that old man," and he heard her say it. One broadcasting giant fired his young star live on the air. One sitcom star asked for a raise and ended up filming alone, escorted by a guard. These are 25 classic TV stars nobody wanted to work with: Steven Hill, Lawrence Welk, Joan Rivers, Tina Louise, Gary Burghoff, Jack Klugman, Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall, Pernell Roberts, Erik Estrada, Andy Kaufman, George Peppard, Hervé Villechaize, Larry Hagman, Michael Landon, Redd Foxx, John Amos, Carroll O'Connor, Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis, Chevy Chase, Bea Arthur, Arthur Godfrey, Robert Reed, William Shatner, Suzanne Somers, and William Frawley and Vivian Vance. Some were impossible. Some were wronged. Many of these feuds ended with a hug, a letter or a round of golf. We tell both sides, and when a story comes from one person's account, we say whose. Every story in this video is checked against published sources: memoirs, interviews, TV Guide, the Associated Press and other reporting. Scenes marked ILLUSTRATION are AI-generated settings. They show no real people and are not historical photographs.
