Shreya Sandurkar (Questrom’27) came into the Enlight Fellowship with a problem she first noticed growing up in India: the barriers women face when trying to gain financial literacy and independence. She realized that many financial resources were written primarily for men or only available in English, leaving many women and girls without tools designed for them. Through Enlight, Shreya transformed her initial idea for an app into First Rupee and Co., a series of comic books designed to introduce financial literacy to girls ages 9–13 in low-income government schools. The fellowship helped her rethink what an effective solution could look like, while giving her the tools to build a sustainable model for making financial education more accessible.
