Key facts
Polo peaked as a Category 5 last week, with one of the lowest central pressures ever recorded in the Eastern Pacific.
It made landfall late Monday (Sept. 29) as a Category 2 hurricane.
The U.S. flood threat is expected to peak Wednesday and Thursday.
Tropical storm warnings are in effect from Punta San Telmo to Playa Perula in Mexico.
