The Blueprint to Battle Rap: Kool Moe Dee

Before battle rap became a worldwide stage, Kool Moe Dee showed what could happen when an MC aimed his rhymes directly at an opponent. This 4 Dorchester Films documentary follows his journey from his early days in Harlem and The Treacherous Three to the legendary Busy Bee battle at Harlem World. We also trace his move into solo success with “Go See the Doctor,” “How Ya Like Me Now,” and “I Go to Work,” and connect his battle legacy to the modern era of SMACK/URL. How did one MC help change the way rappers compete? This is Kool Moe Dee’s story. #KoolMoeDee #BattleRap #TheTreacherousThree #HipHopHistory #4dorchesterfilms
