Music as a Vehicle for National Integration | Patriotic Songs by School Teachers

School teachers from all over the country, most of them music teachers, came to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram (Delhi Branch) from 9-16 August 2026 for a workshop. In the workshop, they learnt patriotic songs in more than a dozen Indian languages, with guidance from the veteran music teacher, Hemant Da. On the concluding day, they sang songs in eight languages – Gujarati, Bangla, Kannada, Oriya, Assamese, Telugu, Punjabi and Hindi – and ended with offering with the National Song, Bande Mataram. Included in the valedictory function was also the feedback from a few of the participants.
