Hidden villages on Earth that should not exist: 13 impossible places where people actually live. A street with a mountain for a ceiling. A village one house deep on a fifty metre cliff. Islands woven out of reed. A village on the floor of an active volcano. This is our countdown of 13 hidden villages on Earth, and the reason each one is where it is. Every place in this hidden villages documentary is real, nobody here is a re-enactment, and every shot is licensed footage of the place we are actually talking about. We built it from primary sources: UNESCO World Heritage, the Alaska Department of Transportation, the Japan Meteorological Agency, the Geological Survey of Japan, the Governor of Svalbard and peer-reviewed research. Where two sources disagreed, we say so instead of picking the more dramatic number - and where a famous story turns out to be a myth, we correct it on the spot. If you like remote and hidden villages like these, subscribe and turn on the bell. A new journey lands on this channel every week. Supai is reached on foot and needs a permit from the Havasupai Tribe; outside Longyearbyen you are expected to carry polar bear protection; Aogashima is a monitored active volcano and its ferry is often cancelled.
