Looking Back Series - Avril Kinsey interviewed by Dali Tambo

Looking Back Series with Avril Kinsey (guitarist/composer) interviewed by Dali Tambo (People of the South fame). Taken from VHS archival footage. Avril talks about and demonstrates how she created her prepared guitar techniques for her African-inspired compositions in her book and compact disc, Guitar Music from Africa. Some of the techniques she uses recreate the sound of a marimba, a gourd harp and bird calls like the Fish Eagle, the desert Korhaan and Buff-spotted Flufftail.
