4. Can a Digital Fly Survive the Night in Terraria? 🚧Broken physics🚧

A digital fly with an electronic brain is spending another night inside Terraria. Its nervous system is based on the MaleCNS fly connectome. The fly sees through two compound eyes, smells chemical trails, tastes objects, senses gravity, wind, temperature, moisture and contact across different parts of its body. It controls its wings, proboscis and six legs independently. Tonight’s version has several major changes: real-time activity from 15,500 individual neurons; separate touch, moisture, heat, cold and load sensors across the body; pain emerging from sensory overload instead of being a magical game signal; smoother muscle dynamics instead of constant convulsions; improved vision and object projection; smells from mobs, food, plants, liquids and other objects mixing naturally; learning through food, relief, injury, starvation and death. The fly receives no commands like “find food,” “avoid enemies” or “return home.” Terraria only supplies sensory signals and physical consequences. The nervous system must discover useful behaviour by itself. Will it learn to eat, avoid danger and live longer—or spend the whole night dying in increasingly creative ways? This is a live unscripted experiment. Strange behaviour, getting stuck and catastrophic failure are all part of it.
