Our Hong Kong adventure continues!
The Hong Kong adventure isn’t over yet! After exploring the city in Part 1, we’re continuing our very first day in Hong Kong, discovering a completely different side of this incredible destination — peaceful gardens, beautiful birds, historic streets, traditional Chinese culture, fascinating museums, and the famous Mid-Levels Escalator!
Hong Kong is often known for its towering skyscrapers, luxury shopping malls, and busy streets. But as we continued exploring, we discovered that the city has so much more to offer. Hidden between its modern buildings are peaceful green spaces, centuries-old traditions, colonial-era architecture, art-filled streets, and places that tell the story of Hong Kong’s rich past.
Come along with us as we walk, explore, and experience Hong Kong together!
OUR HONG KONG DAY 1 — PART 2 ITINERARY
1. Hong Kong Botanical Gardens — A Green Escape in the City
Our journey continues with a visit to one of Hong Kong’s beautiful green spaces. Surrounded by tropical plants, lush gardens, and the sounds of nature, this is a refreshing contrast to the busy streets of Central.
2. Edward Youde Aviary:
One of the most fascinating stops was the aviary at the garden was Aviary. For anyone who loves birds, this place is truly worth exploring.
3. Hong Kong City Hall & Edinburgh Place:
We continue towards the Civic Centre area, where modern city life meets Hong Kong’s architectural and cultural heritage. The surrounding public spaces offer a glimpse of the city’s urban character and its vibrant Central district.
4.Olympic Square, Hong Kong — A Landmark of Olympic History! 🇭🇰
Our Hong Kong city exploration continued with a stop at Olympic Square, a public space associated with Hong Kong’s sporting pride and Olympic achievements.
5.Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware.
6. HSBC Building — A Landmark of Central Hong Kong
7. Pottinger Street — The Famous Stone Slab Street
Next, we explore Pottinger Street, known for its distinctive uneven stone steps and old Hong Kong atmosphere. 8. Wellington Street — Exploring the Streets of Central
9. Hollywood Road — Art, Antiques & Old Hong Kong
10. Tai Kwun — Where Hong Kong’s History Meets Modern Art
One of the highlights of our walk is Tai Kwun, a beautifully restored heritage complex that was once home to the Central Police Station, the Central Magistracy, and Victoria Prison. Today, its historic buildings, courtyards, exhibitions, and contemporary art spaces offer a fascinating look at how Hong Kong preserves its past while embracing the present.
11. Man Mo Temple — A Glimpse into Traditional Chinese Culture
12. Hong Kong Mid-Levels Escalator — A Unique City Experience
We end this part of our exploration with the famous Mid-Levels Escalator system. More than just a way to get around, it offers a unique perspective on daily life in Central.
