📖 A PAGE DAILY | DAY 012 SURAH AL-BAQARAH (2:77–83) The Cow — Verses 77–83 ✨ VERSE-BY-VERSE SUMMARY Based on Tafsir Ibn Kathir 1️⃣ VERSE 77 — ALLAH KNOWS WHAT WE HIDE Allah reminds us that He knows everything people conceal and reveal. No secret, intention, or hidden truth is beyond His knowledge. 2️⃣ VERSE 78 — DO NOT FOLLOW RELIGION WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE Allah describes people who do not truly understand the Scripture but rely on assumptions and wishful thinking. Ibn Kathir explains that people must not speak about Allah's religion without sound knowledge. 3️⃣ VERSE 79 — NEVER DISTORT THE TRUTH FOR WORLDLY GAIN Allah warns those who write things with their own hands and falsely claim that they come from Him, seeking a small worldly benefit. This highlights the seriousness of misrepresenting Allah's words for personal gain. 4️⃣ VERSE 80 — DO NOT MAKE FALSE CLAIMS ABOUT ALLAH Some claimed that the Fire would touch them only for a limited number of days. Allah challenges them to provide evidence for this claim, warning against speaking about Him without knowledge. 5️⃣ VERSE 81 — THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN Allah explains that those whose evil and wrongdoing overwhelm them and who meet Him in that state face the punishment of the Fire. Ibn Kathir discusses how this verse relates to disbelief and sins that encompass a person's life. 6️⃣ VERSE 82 — FAITH MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY RIGHTEOUS DEEDS Those who truly believe and perform righteous deeds will be the companions of Paradise, remaining there forever. Allah's promise reminds us that faith should be reflected in our actions. 7️⃣ VERSE 83 — WORSHIP ALLAH AND TREAT PEOPLE WELL Allah reminds the Children of Israel of their covenant: worship Him alone, show kindness to parents and relatives, care for orphans and the needy, speak kindly to people, establish prayer, and give zakah. Despite these clear commands, many turned away. 🌙 TODAY'S REMINDER Allah knows what is hidden in our hearts. Never speak about Him without knowledge, distort the truth for worldly gain, or allow faith to remain only on our tongues.
