Shivering Timbers Dojo continues putting more things on video for people to reference and learn from. This video was a fun review of moves from Tedori Jujitsu's Brown Belt- Orange Belt. Each belt in this style up to brown belt is comprised of six Tips, and each Tip is broken up into moves for or from fingers, wrists, elbows, shoulders, head, body, and legs. Brown Belt revists each belt, starting with Yellow. It is the whole style, adding advanced bits where it can. Brown Belt-OrangeTip 6 starts with counters to things we have already learned, and goes into uncommon grips and throws. It has several moves that are revistis of things we learned in Tip 5, from another ange or a slightly different grip. Some moves already have strikes, and we look at ways where we can add more. Some moves aren't great to go to throws, but many are. Here we look at the moves for the body & legs: ogoshi gaeshi nage ichi & ni, and ouchi gari gyaku kibisu. If you practice these techniques differently that we have represented here, great. I hope this gives you a fresh look. If you know variations of these techniques, also great. There's more than one way to skin a cat. This video and those that follow are never going to replace practicing with an instructor and good partners. But it will help you remember points of the techniques. This video is absolutely geared towards the beginning stages of learning- low resistance, high compliance. Aliveness comes later. For now, enjoy some footage, and maybe learn a thing.
