Why We Booked No Hotel in Vrindavan?

We reached Vrindavan at ten, half past ten at night with nothing booked — and a single room with a mattress at Hotel Tulsi Grand Inn cost ₹2,000 for the night (June 2026), breakfast not included, ₹275 per person on top. We had left Ramnagar that morning with 364 km to cover and a full six hours showing, and we told the camera we would be there by six in the evening. We walked into a hotel lobby and asked for a room after ten at night. This is a day from our longest road trip — Hyderabad all the way up and back down into Braj — and we finished it without a room booked. You hear us describe them — the camera never gets a shot of one • The argument in the car about booking online versus walking up to the desk. One of us says online is cheaper, at least ₹500 to ₹1,000 off; the other says you get it cheaper by turning up. We only ever priced the desk, so take it as our argument, not a test • Hotel Tulsi Grand Inn quotes ₹2,000, we walk out because the place is completely empty with no guests in it, take the number, go looking — and come back • The room itself, and dinner arriving at half past eleven at night One thing to be straight about: this room is not next to Banke Bihari. On camera we say Himani wanted an area nearer the temple, and afterwards that the closer options weren't what she liked — and that after Haridwar's lights, this stretch didn't look as lively to her.
