Amit Shah Takes a Dig at Rahul Gandhi Over Gyanesh Kumar’s Resignation Demand | SIR Row

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has taken a swipe at Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over the opposition’s demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar amid the controversy surrounding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Shah questioned whether the SIR process was responsible for Congress’s electoral defeats in Gandhinagar and other parts of Gujarat. He defended SIR as a constitutional process intended to improve the accuracy and transparency of voter lists by removing the names of deceased, duplicate, and ineligible voters. The Home Minister also stressed that the revision process is conducted by the independent Election Commission, not by the government. He accused the Congress of blaming the Election Commission to deflect attention from its electoral defeats. #AmitShah #RahulGandhi #GyaneshKumar #SIR #ElectionCommission #BJP #Congress #IndianPolitics #PoliticalNews #VoterList #ElectoralRoll #ElectionControversy #Opposition #LatestNews #BreakingNews Welcome to News18 Odia, your go-to destination for the latest news and updates from across India and beyond.
