In 1975, Jimmy Hoffa vanished from the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox restaurant outside Detroit. Within months, the FBI had compiled a list of suspects, and one name kept surfacing: Salvatore "Sally Bugs" Briguglio, an enforcer in Anthony "Tony Pro" Provenzano's crew in New Jersey. The Bureau's internal Hoffa file placed Briguglio among the men believed to be in Detroit on the day Hoffa disappeared. He was never charged in the case. In March 1978, before he could be tried in a separate murder case tied to Provenzano, he was shot dead on Mulberry Street in Little Italy. Martin Scorsese's "The Irishman" retold the Hoffa story through Frank Sheeran, but Sally Bugs, a man the FBI considered central to the case, appears only briefly on screen. This video examines who he was, why investigators focused on him, and what the film left out. #JimmyHoffa #TheIrishman #SallyBugs
