What If You Never Get Married? | Journal 011

What if you never get married? It's a question many single women are afraid to ask themselves. In this Journal, I talk about the fear of never finding a spouse, the pressure women can feel around marriage, and why your life should not be placed on hold while you wait for love. I also talk about something I think we don't discuss enough: the danger of moving from one relationship to another simply because you're afraid of being alone or afraid that you may never find “the one.” The dating scene can be confusing, chaotic and emotionally exhausting. And sometimes, in our desperation to find love, we can lose ourselves in the process. But what if there is another way? What if, instead of making marriage the centre of your life, you build a life around purpose, growth, God, meaningful relationships and becoming the woman you were created to be? And as a Christian, I believe there is also something to be said about trusting God with something as important as marriage. We can desire a spouse without allowing the desire to consume us. We can hope for marriage while still living fully in the present. You don't have to put your life on hold because you're waiting for a husband. So, what if you never get married?
